In the INKNOJET “Development of formulations based on specific for use in inkjet equipment nanoparticles advanced inks”, recently completed, have helped the Lurederra Technology Centre as coordinator, along with companies Betadiseño and Politronica (Italy) project, achieving interesting results . Indeed, the complementarity of the partners has been key to complete the established activities, emphasizing on the one hand the role of Lurederra in the development of inorganic pigments nanoscale and predispersions for preparing inks, on the other Politronica side formulating inks from these nano-pigment printing and performing tests on a laboratory scale, and finally, conducting various tests Betadiseño color development of the inks and inkjet printing rolls pilot with the best selected formulations.
Specifically, it has worked in the development of new formulations of suitable inorganic inks equipment inkjet digital printing, with the specific aim of combining the advantages of sizes smaller particle (high resolution without jams printheads) with a composition inorganic chemistry that provides high thermal resistance. Thus, inks developed may be subjected to high temperatures as required for attachment and cured on ceramic materials decompose as the most common inkjet inks of an organic nature.
Therefore, it has the advantages of inkjet technology in terms of high resolution and accuracy but both avoiding color degradation by high temperatures as jam problems in the heads.
In fact, one of the main activities Betadiseño is focused on the customization of ceramic cups by printing so that thermal curing tests have been carried out under real operating conditions.
The INKNOJET project, which has lasted 27 months (January 2013 – March 2015), has been funded by the Department of Innovation, Enterprise and Employment of the Government of Navarra under the Inter-ERANET MANUNET 2012. Program by navarras participating entities, the project had a total budget of € 258,646 and has received funding of € 95,840.
