It works mainly for improvement of materials, looking for solutions to improve, among others, their mechanical properties (abrasion, breaking load, fireproofing), to improve procedurability by means of substituting some materials by others and improvement of the properties by functionalization, endowing them with especial properties which allow to provide new features.
Formulations of polymeric materials based on different properties that can be given to the material are as well developed. For that we count with the necessary equipment to carry out tests of material processing in extrusion systems, injection and blow at industrial level.
Another line of work is the recycling of plastic materials, in particular it has been developed and patented the process for the recycling of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), that permits to obtain a high purity PVB whose transparency and adhesion properties are suitable for being reused in automotive moons, something that until now was not achieved by methods that were industrializable from the technical-economic point of view.
