Lurederra has long experience in the management and recovery of waste and it presents his work in this line focused on waste minimization, proper management of waste generated as well as the development of new proposals for recovery and use thereof.
These recovery methods range from the development of new materials using waste as raw material, the production of the recycled material itself with features very similar to commercial material or the implementation of various recycling technologies and subsequent use of such waste. For example, Lurederra has operated in the recovery of paper industry waste for different applications such as the development of new insulation products, its inclusion as fibers for plastics reinforcement or the development of sorbent materials from this waste, sorbents that will be applicable in soil and water.
The Center also has an extensive experience in the wide field of inorganic waste management. Among the high-impact activities that Lurederra performs on recycling matters, highlights the recycling of plastic polyolefin films, which allows to obtain low density and high purity polyethylene with high added value in the market, and the recovery of valuable metals and materials such as gold, platinum or rare earth, thereby contributing to the Circular Economy.
