After the first 6 months of development, the partners of the European SUNRISE project met on December 16th in a telematic conference to assess the progress during the period and discuss priorities since the official start in June 2021. Mapping of recyclers and information from the sector has been obtained through a dedicated survey where interesting conclusions have been extracted on the volumes, sectors and quality of the wastes. After the initial definitions of products requirements and sorting system, the work is focused now in the characterisation of references and collected waste samples of PVB and laminated glass.
In addition, the consortium also discussed the next starting tasks, deliverables and milestones, agreeing on the actions planned in the short term. In terms of dissemination, in the coming months it will be ready the SUNRISE official video which will increase the awareness of the project.
The next SUNRISE meeting was scheduled for May 2022 and it is also planned to be held online due to the still unstable pandemic situation.
