After two years of the course of MAREWIND project, focused on offers durability to offshore structures, the consortium celebrated the meeting corresponding with 24 months of the project. The partners, coming form different parts of Europe, met for the first time in person, the days 16 and 17 of November at Lurederra facilities, in Los Arcos, in order to share their progress and the new results.
In a global way, involving all the partners, the carried-out actions of MAREWIND, are being followed according to what has been proposed, thus indicating the good work and the understanding of the consortium.
Lurederra, as project leader, was in charge of the meeting organization, as well as all issues related to administration and coordination of the project. As researcher partner, shared results about the anticorrosion and antifouling coatings, focused on additional characterizations and essays of validation at laboratory scale. The test conditions are getting closer to real conditions, and relevant results in this aspect, were shared. For example, in the specific case of the anticorrosion system, not only the 4200 hours inside saline mist chamber has been achieved, but also it has been confirmed the good behaviour for more than 1000 hours, under UV exposition, and resisting to temperature oscillation too, even under freezing conditions, fulfilling with the expectations of the most demanding regulations.
This meeting showed how the step is being taken on a larger scale in all the study cases, including the new concrete compounds and the adjustment of blade designs, getting closer and closer to situations that are as real as possible.
