The ZEOCAT-3D project, funded by the Horizon 2020 European programme, and under the topic “Catalytic transformation of hydrocarbons” began in April 2019 and involves fifteen European partners from six different countries, where IDENER (Seville), is the coordinator.
Regarding the role of LUREDERRA within the project, it is in charge of the synthesis of key complex nanoparticles through FSP technology for their incorporation into the zeolitic materials developed during the project. In addition, it will be the main actor in the tasks related to environmental feasibility studies.
Regarding the course of the project, the second meeting of the consortium recently took place in Los Arcos, more specifically in the facilities of the Lurederra Technology Centre, where the next steps to be followed were discussed and agreed in reference to the development of a bifunctional hierarchically structured zeolite based nano-catalyst using 3D technology for direct conversion of methane into aromatic hydrocarbons, thereby reducing the dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
