This time, we have sought scientific inspiration to continue developing projects in Tuscany, a land connected to the genius and polymath Leonardo da Vinci. In the same way as he went in deep into different areas of knowledge, the BEETHOVEN project consortium is investigating the generation of new improved magnets using different strategies, exploring several manufacturing technologies and advance compositions.
Thus, in the incomparable setting of Florence, the host partner, the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), organized the in-person meeting for the 18th month of the project. This meeting facilitated the sharing of progress among the partners, allowing them to discuss next steps and highlight the most promising results to date. The project is currently at a peak of activity in the production of ferrites and high-entropy alloys, and is seeing progress in computational simulations, as well as initial steps toward manufacturing scale-up. It is also noteworthy, the ongoing communication between the research team and the industrial partners, which is focus on developing new materials for potential market implementation in end-use applications such as electric vehicles, wind turbines, and flywheels.
