At the end of last November, the meeting corresponding to Month 30 of the European project “Ionometallurgy of primary sources for an enhanced raw materials recovery” (ION4RAW) was held, therefore starting with the second half of its development. Due to the current situation, and like the previous meetings, the assembly took place by videoconference.<\/p>\n

During these last months, the work of the different partners in charge of the development of the tasks of each of the Work Packages, has focused on the analysis, leaching, filtration and recovery of metals from the materials from the El Porvenir mines (applying the knowledge developed in the first half of the project by working with Scotgold materials).<\/p>\n

Lurederra focused on explaining the advances made with this new material both in the filtration processes and in the metal recovery stages. As a most prominent fact, different results were presented on the incorporation of the solids left over from the filtration and recovery stages of DES, in concrete samples. In this way, it is possible to reuse one of the most abundant by-products in the project, favoring the concept of circular economy present in its objectives.<\/p>\n
