The INNOVIP project,which started in October 2016, will reinvent the top-of-the line insulating material vaccum-insulation-panels (VIP) by improving their termal performance over the entire lifetime by at least 25% and making VIPs adjustable, mountable and machineable. One of the most innovative points of this project is the attachment of different cover layers with different functionalities which can be adjusted according to the application they address, for example photocatalytic VOC removal from indoor and outdoor air, anti mould coating, moisture buffering or summer heat cut-off.<\/p>\n

The consortium of the project consists of 13 partners: Forschunginstitut f\u00fcr W\u00e4rmeschutz e.V. (FIW), va-Q-tec AG (VQT), Avery Dennison (AVE), Nordisk Perlite ApS (NDK), Tecnolog\u00eda Navarra de Nanoproductos S.L. (TEC), Soprema (SOP), Mostostal Warszawa S.A. (MOS), Laboratoire National de m\u00e9trologie et d\u2019Essais (LNE), Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV), Institute for Research and Technological development in Construction Sciences (ITE), Oxford Brookes University (OBU), Bavarian Research Alliance GmbH (BayFOR), and Centro Tecnol\u00f3gico Lurederra (LUR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

INNOVIP is facing the second year of the project having achieved good results in preliminary trials. The different formulations developed and applied by Lurederra at laboratory scale in order to give the cover layers the desired functionalities are delivering promising results for the moment. The next steps that will be carried out during this second year of the project will be the selection of the best alternatives regarding the nano-coatings for the cover layers and the upscaling of these formulations.<\/p>\n

This project has received funding from the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 723441.<\/em><\/p>\n
